En kæmpe sandbanke på 700ton danner scenen i en spektakulær performance på Prøvestenen - det ellers aflukkede industriområde, som publikum nu får adgang til. Her giver syv dansere og det klassiske vokalensemble ÆTLA (@aetlavocalensemble ) krop og stemme til dette unikke, kunstigt skabte landskab, hvor uendelige mængder af jordmateriale gør ophold inden det anvendes i byggeriet af fremtidens infrastruktur.
Dansernes bevægelser på sandbanken giver associationer til forgangne civilisationer og skaber samtidig rum for at spekulere over mulige fremtider, hvor naturens “overskudsmaterialer” bruges som værn for klimakrisens konsekvenser - som dæmning under oversvømmelser, som skygge under hedebølger.

A huge sand dune of 700-tonnes sets the stage for a spectacular performance at Prøvestenen – the otherwise closed-off industrial area that is now opened to the audience. Here, seven dancers and the classical vocal ensemble ÆTLA give body and voice to this unique, man-made landscape, where vast amounts of earth materials are temporarily stored before being used in the construction of future infrastructure.
The dancers’ movements on the sandbank evoke images of past civilizations while also opening space for reflection on possible futures — where nature’s “surplus materials” are used as protection against the consequences of the climate crisis: as barriers against flooding, as shade during heatwaves.
