Beijing Rodeo BTS:
This selection of pictures is literally just from ONE DAY on set… I can’t even say it was the most epic day we shot cause every inch of work done on this film was tremendous.
1. Filming in Dixon Place was a triple layer cake of sets being distinct AND interacting in nuanced/glorious ways.
2. Beijing Rodeo: The Music Concert Experience is all from the mind of Kenny Geiler. I’ll walk to the end of the earth to make movies with this genius sweetheart.
3. Lucky Assistant Director, Madeleine Joyce, with motivations and physicalities for our Chinese extras and therefore Mandarin and Cantonese translators.
4. Shot by the one and only Noah Fowler. A Cinematographer who KNOWS and FEELS it all!!
5. Is that a Jersey House Inspired Line Dance?! YES, yes it is! Choreographed by the iconic Carlie Sue Anderson and dance-off’d by our imaculate star, Anna Crivelli, aka RED.
6. WHO is behind all the colors, textures, saturations and bubble walls? Jacqueline Brockel a mad and joyous wizard angel. (Not pictured another color and light genius Dino Davaros with Pigeon Plate, my god, his tube lighting screamed!)
7. Kenny wrote in a Cigarette Girl, duh! Here Mads is just relaying the business plan to get all these prop cigs sold before the Duel starts, honey.
8. There will be a whole post dedicated to clowns one day soon. Maggie and Siddharth absolutely DIVINE matador/bull duo irresistably costumed and styled by luscious creator Gina Ruiz.
9. Even the BTS (all these particular photos x Jon Tylor) was epic… mira these palimpsests of every dancer grooving SO hard.
