Frames from a Spotlight piece I was able to DP, it was about UCLA Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies. These are interviews that were spliced into a longer form mini Doc.
It was the end of the trip
We had wrapped a 3 week schedule and we were on our way to the aiport
- The only thing we were missing was some Texas cowboys for the edit
- but a pit stop we didn't know was waiting
- I am notorious for
missing exits while driving
- driving out of Texas I missed one, a big one
- everyone in the car was asleep So I did a sneaky U-Turn to save face, and as I flipped the bitch...
- This majestic scene was right in front of us, happening as the sun goes down in the backdrop
- Mid U turn, Jon and aaron woke up and we drove straight into the mud all in unspoken agreement.
-It couldn’t have been at a more perfect time. The sun was setting and I knew I had to capture this moment.

Picked up this dresser on Facebook marketplace,I have been into recycling furniture lately. I think a lot of good pieces are discarded due to their appearance.
this piece had quite a few challenges, specifically around, getting the knobs off the dresser due to the way It was constructed. I think there’s always lessons to be learned. Every time I do a piece. This piece taught me consistency is key and little progress is better than no progress.
this piece took me a total of three non-consecutive weekends. All in all I think the peace came out to my liking and standard.
Enjoyed helping on this project, got to meet @destodubb and listen to his mindset about being an entrepreneur. What resilience can do for a person and overcoming life’s obstacles. He is the owner of @coughsyrupbydestodubb which is a very successful street clothing brand. Shoutout to @aaron_kid for the documentary.
