Throwback to when our Founder & CEO, Soraya Fouladi (@electricceo ) and Chief Strategy Officer, Pumla Maswanganyi (@swangs_express ) presented the Jara Unit at the @ciscolive event 2019 in Melbourne, Australia, and won the GRAND PRIZE of $20,000!
To win this award, Pumla and Soraya had to get the majority votes from the 15,000 attendees at Cisco Live. Soraya also gave a talk to 800 Cisco Networking Academy students about Jara and being an engineer and entrepreneur.

It’s back to school season🍎📝!
For some children this time means the end of vacations 🏖, buying school supplies 📗, and early mornings 🌞. But for many other children they never even get the opportunity to attend school let alone go back to it. The global disruption to education caused by the COVD-19 pandemic 😷effects on learning are severe. The crisis brought education systems across the world to a halt, with school closures affecting more than 1.6 billion learners. While nearly every country in the world offered remote learning opportunities for students, the quality and reach of such initiatives varied greatly and were at best partial substitutes for in-person learning. Jara has created #TheJaraUnit. It is a personal educational device that enables children to learn localized education content in any language without needing access to electricity , a quality classroom, or the Internet. The Jara Unit acts as a teaching tool for teachers to use in the classroom during self-study time and for students to continue their learning at home, especially when textbooks and workbooks are minimally available. #BacktoSchoolWithJara
