“My inspiration was to get my client to an even, seamless blonde where she can play more freely with creative color combinations having a blank canvas always.
This result stands out due to color correction and having to pivot when things don’t go as expected. Her previous old color left her ends horribly stained and brassy. I had to pivot in my technique and approach. After processing her global application and rinsing, her mids and ends needed spot treating with wet balayage to help shift some of that old pigment out. Luckily it worked!”

When Kate Hudson stepped onto the RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars 11 stage as a guest judge, her gingham bubble dress called for equally bold, healthy hair - so we went big, inspired by ’70s icons Donna Summer and Jerry Hall.
I prepped damp hair with Joico Dream Blowout Thermal Protection Crème, combing through from roots to ends, then layered in Joico Power Whip Whipped Foam for volume and hold. I kept the curtain bangs smooth with a small round brush, while rough-drying the rest to maintain natural texture.
Using ½” sections and a ¼” curling iron, I wrapped hair away from the face and set each section with Joico Heat Hero Glossing Thermal Protector. After cooling, I separated the curls for airy, frothy volume, keeping roots flatter near the crown.
To finish, I styled the bangs, added the sailor hat, and locked everything in with Joico Hold Hero High Hold + Shine Boosting Finishing Spray.
