I tried to make a reel. It took at eight tries, I posted it for thirty seconds and realized I just can’t do it. Techno lives in the shadows, not in the video section of a camera roll.

@johnyienger ’s “Picking Up Threads From An Old Life” is a hardgroove tension builder that’s no fluff, all TUFF. Funny backstory too… the title comes from a post-breakup LOTR binge.
Yienger keeps his process as lean and uncomplicated as the output. All stock Ableton plugins. The man doesn’t need fancy tools to put together a dancefloor destroyer.
We’ve been talking about releasing something together since he first sent us demos last summer, and when we heard “Picking Up Threads…” we knew it was the one. Beyond the tunes, he’s becoming something of a fixture at our parties. Always down. Always smiling. Genuinely, the guy has the best energy. You should chat him up if you see him out there. Feels right to have him on Visions.
Visions is out today! This one means a lot. We’ve been working toward it quietly for the better part of a year… trading tracks, sharing notes, and figuring out how to make something that feels like a proper snapshot of where we’re at and where we’re headed.
Across these seven tracks, you’ll hear artists we’ve released before, friends who’ve played at our parties, and producers we’ve admired from afar and finally got the chance to work with.
