Got to read the very fun character of Adam in this one! Check it out in The UK audiobook edition of the Maddaddam Trilogy by the legendary Margaret Atwood for @hachetteuk . Out now in the UK. It’s the second book in a trilogy, make sure you read the first one too. It’s worth it!

I’m so proud of my dad. After publishing 3 books over the past 2 years, he is now releasing Volume 1 of 3 of my Opa’s autobiography. You can get it on Amazon in the link in bio: @voth.andrej This powerful trilogy chronicles the extraordinary life of Heinrich, a man whose unwavering faith and resilience carried him through the darkest chapters of the 20th century. Set against the backdrop of Stalinist persecution, war-torn lands, and the oppressive grip of Soviet rule, the series is a testament to the unyielding strength of truth and the transformative power of conviction. Volume I: The Truth Will Never Die In the first book, we are introduced to Heinrich as a young man whose dreams and aspirations are shattered by the brutal realities of life under Stalin’s regime. Through imprisonment, the loss of family members and the execution of his father, exile to Siberian labour camps, and the constant threat of death, his spirit remains unbroken. This volume vividly portrays his trials and triumphs, honouring the faith and fortitude that sustained him in a world determined to strip him of his humanity.

Our sweet Oma, Katharina Fenske, passed to be with the lord at the age of 84. She passed softly whispering prayers for her family, their names on her lips, and with her children holding her hand. It was peaceful. My Oma was a good woman, with boundless energy and love for her 11 children, 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Family members had to encourage her often to sit down so that she could enjoy the work she put in to care for everyone. And care she did, she was selflessness personified. In her last week of life, It was very important for her to slowly walk to the bank so that she could take out money for her grandchildren. She even wrote her own obituary, which is pinned below in her own words. My Oma was of strong faith. She prayed without ceasing, and would make sure to tell us the stories of whole books of the bible whenever she saw us. She loved God dearly, and God loves her. My Oma was strong. She survived wars, famines, and the Siberian cold. When she was in fifth grade she had to study, take care of strangers children, and feed herself without seeing her family for four years. That strength held up into her old age. Up until a year ago, she was still going on hikes. The only day she did not get out of bed was her last day. My Oma was beautiful. When my Grandfather saw her for the first time on a crowded train, he immediately had to leave that train. He was too overwhelmed with her beauty and how much he felt for her. My mother was the oldest of the eleven children, and what I have learned from both my Oma and Mama, is that love lives in your actions. You show your love by taking care of those around you, no matter what. I will forever cherish the memories of running around my grandparents house as a child, picking cherries off the tree in the back yard, drinking fresh milk from the farm down the road and eating all the delicious food Oma prepared for us. ‘Eat Eat! You need to grow’, as she filled my 3rd plate to the brim. This is the last of my grandparents to pass, and I am proud of the legacy of faith, love, and strength of character that we have inherited from that Generation.
