$960,000 AND COUNTING raised for trigeminal neuralgia research. Last nightâs âLaugh Your Face Offâ was something we could have never imagined when we started this thing on a random Thursday night back in 2015. To see 800 people in one of the most iconic venues in Chicago, joining our fight against a disease many of them didnât even know existed 11 years agoâwords cannot describe it. It was magic.
Our research is progressing like never before, our reach is expanding, our influence is growing, and none of that happens without Chicago. What we did last night is not happening anywhere else in the worldâChicago has become the center of the TN universe, and I could not be prouder to call this city home. God, do I love this town.
Amy was an absolute vision last night. I marvel at her every yearâhow sheâs able to carry herself with such grace despite unbelievable pain. So many patients shared their success stories with usâhow her story led them to a diagnosis, and then eventually to a successful treatment. Your words will stay with us forever. Thank youâit has been the honor of our lives.
There is nowhere near enough space on here to thank everyone who needs to be thanked, but we would not be here without the support of
@northwesternmedicine @neurosurgerynm @babaksjahromi @rosenowjoshua , who took a chance on us when Navy Pier was a fantasy. Thank you also to
@mginnster for being such a badass and sharing your story, to our comics
@bettermegangailey @adamgilbert__ @kyleayers @kevinbozeman1 , to my brother
@johnvincentlive , to every one of our committee members and fellow trustees at
@facialpainresearch , to
@esppresents and
@1440eventdesign for turning our vision into reality, and to the incomparable
@janelynchofficial , whose own family has been touched by this disease, and who flew in from LA just to be able to meet and talk to our patients.
We are so humbled, so thankful, and so hopeful.
Change is coming.
