Had the pleasure of seeing Oteil & Friends at Mohegan Sun last night with my wonderful wife and so many friends. The band was on fire! Not a weak link amongst them! So cool to see Jaimoe pop up too and stick around. 🍑 🎶 SEEING music is just as important to me as playing, not because I’m trying to cop licks from some of my heroes, (if you ever see me at a show and notice my thousand yard stare that’s usually what I’m doing. I promise I’m enjoying it 😆) but because we have such a rich scene here and it’s important to just be OUT there in the community. I’m thankful to be a part of this jam family. 🙏🏻 Much love. Listen I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I do know that living a life for others and not for yourself is energy and time wasted. Even in songwriting for a long time I felt like I had to write things that were “in our lane” and that people would judge me for deviating from our genre. No more.
