We’re excited to announce that WHAT DO YOU SEEK IN THE DARK?, a short film by Tossaphon Riantong, has been honored with its World Premiere at the 65th @semaine_de_la_critique - Cannes in the Short Film Competition! Which will held from May 13th to 21st 2026. This respected section of Cannes has always paid great attention to short films, making it an important step in the journey of becoming a film director. Out of thousands of submissions, we are proud to be selected as part of this year’s lineup. And to be the first Thai short film ever selected. We believe cinema is alive and waiting for us in the dark. My first leading role premiering at Cannes. เมื่อปลายปีที่แล้ว จอนได้ไปแคสหนังสั้นเรื่องหนึ่ง ตอนนั้นยังไม่รู้เลยว่าใครเป็นผู้กำกับ แค่รู้สึกว่าอยากลองก้าวเข้าไปทำอะไรใหม่ ๆ ที่ไม่คุ้นเคย และหนังเรื่องนั้น ก็ได้รู้ว่าเป็นหนังของพี่มีน @traintong และได้เห็นการเดินทางของหนังเรื่องนี้ตั้งแต่วันแรก จนมาถึงวันนี้ ขอบคุณพี่มีนที่เชื่อใจและเลือกจอนให้มาเล่าเรื่องนี้ และช่วยผลักดันจอนที่ไม่เคยเล่นหนังจริงจังเลย นอกจากหนังใต้ถุนคณะ 55555 you deserve everything ยินดีด้วยมากๆๆ เก่งสุดๆ ขอบคุณดาริส พี่ออฟ พี่แม่น้ำ พี่ฐา พี่แต๋ง ยีน และทีมงานอีกมากมาย ทุกคนที่ร่วมกันสร้างหนังเรื่องนี้ขึ้นมา และขอบคุณหนังเรื่องนี้ ที่ทำให้จอนได้ก้าวออกจาก comfort zone ของการแสดงจริง ๆ เป็นครั้งแรก หนังเรื่องนี้พูดถึงการเผชิญหน้ากับด้านที่เราใช้ทั้งชีวิตพยายามหลบมัน ความต้องการ ความกลัว และสิ่งที่เราเองก็ไม่อยากยอมรับว่ามันมีอยู่ และมันกลายเป็นหนึ่งในบทเรียนที่สำคัญมากในชีวิตของจอน WHAT DO YOU SEEK IN THE DARK? will have its World Premiere at the 65th Semaine de la Critique — Cannes 2026. 📽️👤
