⭐️ Race Report – @club100racing - Southern Championship, @sheningtonkrc - Round 2 🏁🔥 Missing out on pre-event testing meant going straight into practice on the back foot, but Luke wasted no time getting up to speed. Showing strong pace right away, he set the fastest lap of the session with a 56.015 — P1 out of 60 cadets 👊🚀 Qualifying saw another solid run with a 56.394, placing him into the Pre A Final in 6th. The Pre A was full of intense racing, with constant position changes that kept everyone on edge 😰 Luke pushed hard through the pack, fighting his way forward and managing to take the lead on the final lap, crossing the line in P1 after an incredible battle 💥 Starting the Final from pole, Luke didn’t get the cleanest launch and dropped to third, slotting in behind Ronnie and Jacob. The leading trio quickly broke away and by lap 6 Luke was still matching the pace with 56.4 lap times while tucked up behind them. Unfortunately, that’s when the kart started to die, losing all of its top-end speed. By the end of the race, my lap times had dropped to 57.6, making it tougher and tougher to stay in the fight 😰 From there, it turned into a defensive drive, battling hard to hold onto a podium position. Despite the challenge, Luke held strong under pressure from Rory to bring it home in P3 — a great result considering the circumstances 💪🏆 Big congratulations to @jacob_underhill_racing on the win and @ronniedeaconracing for taking second place 👏 Great racing. 🏁 Winning Even When Losing 🏁 This weekend proved that success isn’t always about the final result! 📅 Friday Practice • Strong start to the weekend with excellent pace⚡ • 2nd fastest in his session & 4th fastest junior of the day 🏎️ 🌧️ Saturday Practice & Qualifying • Conditions were incredibly tough—rain constantly changing grip 🌧️❄️ Group B had the advantage in conditions - just meant we had to work harder 💪 • Delivered another strong performance with 5th fastest in practice • In qualifying, finished 7th in group 🏁 Pre-Final • Started P14, Lap 1 chaos and jostling dropped him back to P19 😩 • Fought his way back up to P13 👊 • Set the 2nd fastest lap of the race—pace was clearly there 🔥 🏎️ Final • Another difficult start—forced into accident avoidance TWICE on lap 1 🚫 • Dropped to last place (26th) and over 10 seconds behind the pack • He continued pushing, making overtakes where possible to finish P21 despite the setbacks 📊 The Bigger Picture • Once again ended the day just 0.1s off the fastest time overall - top 3 on outright pace • The run of bad luck at the start of the season continues 🍀 • Currently sitting joint 6th in the championship with everything still to play for 📈 💙 The Biggest Win 💙 While the racing didn’t end how we wanted, the most important moment of the weekend happened away from the track. A huge thank you to KC Coaching for the incredible support shown to G—not just as a driver, but as a person. After a tough race, he helped G process and recover emotionally, and even more importantly, encouraged him to go for dinner with another KC driver and their family. For most, that might seem like a small thing—but for G, it’s massive. He never attends anything social! Usually after a difficult race, G finds it very hard to regulate emotions—often not talking or eating for a day or two. This time, with the support and encouragement from Kieran, he took that step. That doesn’t just show progress—it shows trust and the impact of having the right people around you. Thank you for helping G not only develop as a driver, but for supporting him in overcoming the challenges autism places in his path. 🧩💙 #club100racing #kartingmum
