tldr a year older and forever grateful🥳🥳
the past few years i’ve been lucky enough to have my birthday coincide with some major life altering show. becoming a dj was a real hail mary play bc i’ve made many attempts at being a professional musician since i was like 17/18yo. if this didn’t pan out, i probably would’ve taken a bootcamp and worked in tech (ha jk i’d be unemployed). i’ve really tried to take in every moment along the way, but somehow it’s been the birthday week(ish) shows that have made me hard stop and reflect.
2023: first la show. second time djing in front of people. i rented out a speakeasy bar in chinatown for my bday and forced all my friends and 8 fans to listen to me dj for 75 min. i was just tryna say “yo i’m fr about this”. no one left during my set, so i was happy.
2024: first electrik seoul ever at my dream venue. at the time, i couldn’t fathom playing at academy la. prob the most important show i’ve ever played. have played there 5 times since btw😎🤡
2025: stay in bloom. booked by and opened for dabin my hero at his festival. half of everyone that follows me rn came from there and the content that followed🫶
2026: hollywood palladium. idk man. it’s still a dream i’m trying to remember.
so yeah pretty sure i’ma play coachella next year (i’m not).
life is strange bc i really feel the lifetime it took to get here, while also acknowledging that recently everything has come together so fast. i used to really dread birthdays, but more than ever i’m so grateful for the fact that i’m the oldest i’ve ever been and i can still wake up everyday and continue to pursue an even bigger dream. it’s something i will never take for granted and i so appreciate all of you for being here it❤️
