I’m excited about a new installation at Wye Marsh in Midland, Ontario in which four works will be integrated into the beautiful site. It opens in June and I hope to see you there.

The boardwalk at Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre becomes an outdoor gallery for you to interact with four installations integrated into the landscape. It’s a beautiful place and worth the drive to Midland. I hope to see you there. More details to come soon.

I’m very honoured that my project Runway Rivers has been included in the Toronto Water Atlas, which is, as the website states, “an imaginative, interactive, and collaborative mapping project”.
It was wonderful to meet other water-loving enthusiasts at last night’s gathering at Massey College UofT.
Many thanks to Taneea for her brilliant vision.

While I’m working towards several huge projects in ‘26, it’s good to look back on a busy year. In particular, Runway Rivers, in which I painted almost 8km of lines on a 1/2 km stretch of tarmac at YZD and modified 22 canoes. I became very interested in the lost rivers that once flowed from this essential headwater which feeds the Don and Humber Rivers. And I learned so much from experts in this field of study including knowledge keepers from the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. It was wonderful to collaborate with such wise and generous individuals and make 9 films that the public could access in their simulated canoe trip down the runway rivers. I’m also thrilled that virtually every component of this project has been passed on to those that will continue using them creatively. Stay tuned for information on my upcoming projects that continue my research on the ways in which we interact with the landscape.

Now that Runway Rivers is over, 22 canoes will find a new home. They’ve been donated to many community partners including The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations. In the true spirit of public art, which evolves from dialogue with the community to being installed in the public’s back yard, these canoes will live on in the lives of many people from the community. No landfills for this project as all materials find new homes and purposes. I’m appreciative to @northcrestdev and @yzdtoronto for promoting this vision.

Yours to Uncover: An Ontario Road Trip
is coming to and end this Saturday, Oct.18. But there’s still time to make the trip to beautiful Orillia, enjoy the incredible fall colours, experience some great cuisine and, yes, see the show. Co-exhibitor Peter Fyfe and I will be there Saturday 12-4pm and we’ll offer some snacks and refreshments from 2-4 to celebrate with the amazing Orillia community. Please join us for some conversation. And we are very thankful to the Canada Council for the Arts for the support of this exhibition.

At the entrance to Yours to Uncover: An Ontario Road Trip you are greeted by a large tree, the peeled strips of which flow through the show. Each piece is connected to every other in a road trip that is nostalgic, celebratory, and critical. Fellow artist Peter Fyfe and I have collaborated to bring you on this unique journey, transforming the Orillia Museum of Art and History. I’m very grateful to the Canada Council for the Arts without whom the scope of this installation would not be possible.

The Orillia Museum of Art and History offered @fyfe.art and I a challenging opportunity to totally transform their beautiful space. The result is YOURS TO UNCOVER: it uses the iconic 1980’s tourism ad ‘Yours to Discover’ as the departure point for an exploration of holiday leisure culture and our relationship with the landscape. I am grateful to our amazing install team (willing to haul large trees and rocks from Toronto) and for the privilege of working with long time friend Peter Fyfe on this project. I’m also grateful to the Canada Council for the Arts for their generous support. Runs until October with an Opening Reception Aug. 7, 7-9pm.
