Briefly surrounded by onlookers, he screams words from scripture and accuses attendees of being “against God’s teaching”. Walking around the block, he would make multiple rounds in an apparent attempt to divert attention from the speakers.
The protests were in response to increasing ICE activity in Nashville and more specifically Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s arraignment and pre-trial detention hearing, which was ongoing inside the courthouse.

On Saturday, June 14th, people showed up by the thousands at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in Nashville to protest Trump’s military birthday parade.
This was one in a series of many simultaneous “No Kings” protests throughout the country.
The general feeling was electric, but throughout the entire event it also carried a sense of fatigue. This electricity was the result of a lot of friction these past few months. ICE raids, fractured international relations, domestically deployed military, bribery jets and a 45 million dollar birthday parade, the people are tired.
But from kids to seniors, rain or shine, they showed up, and it was peaceful.

Rain or shine, thousands of people came out to the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in Nashville for the “No Kings” Protest.
The event is one of many protesting Trump’s military birthday parade in DC this weekend. A pleasant surprise were the high numbers of senior attendees.
It turns out distaste for Trump’s recent antics has no age limit. The rain certainly didn’t faze them.
