The theme for this year’s Oscar noms seems to be tragedy and loss, and #sirat is no exception. This is a cross between “The Searchers” and “The Sorcerer” with a Lynch-style directing. A father follows the rave parties in North Africa in search of his daughter. Not much dialogue in French and Spanish, but it tells the story with mesmerising cinematography and a haunting score. This film will put the zap on you, and it may take the International #oscar
