I’m featuring work by my beloved John @johndaviessculptor here, partly because I love it so much, and also because the subject matter in this instance also relates to me. A copy of Slightly Foxed (@foxedquarterly ) has arrived. A while ago I wrote something for them about Jaqueline Susann’s 1966 novel #valleyofthedolls and, as I knew from previous experience, you never know when your contribution to Slightly Foxed will appear. Well, it has today, and it’s a lovely issue so I’m thrilled. I’m very grateful to them for publishing the piece and to my friend @reannabow for introducing me to this amazing book. And to John for letting me use his work.
With one of my large Heads at my exhibition with @galerieartegiani in Frankfurt, last autumn. Thank you to @hendrikleber01 for sending me and @sarah_wedderburn this and other beautiful photographs
KENT ARTISTS PROJECT UPDATE
The longer KAP goes on, the more honoured I feel
that artists are willing to sit for me and be part of the project.
Last week I was very happy to have had the opportunity to meet and to photograph:
JOHN DAVIES
one of my heroes when I first started being interested in art in the 70’s
So pleased to have met John and
to have been able to include him in the #KentArtistsProject.
@JohnDaviesSculptor
LILY PRIGENT
doing great work with drawing and line, in and around Margate and in France.
We thought we might do something by the sea but the weather didn’t agree.
@Lilymixe
ANNIE NICHOLS
interesting combinations of LED/neon, ceramics and sugar.
Making domesticity into art
@annienicholsartist
LUCY McGEOWN
A very happy chance encounter.
Lucy delves deep into the drawn and painted world
and she helps others find their way in it too.
@LucyMcGeown
…more to follow…

Thank you @kaminski.stefan for inviting me to show with the wonderful group of people that is @kaminskiundseinefreunde , and to share in this event. The building, a vast 1950s former church in Duisburg, is astounding!
A show of my work opened last night at Arte Giani in Frankfurt. I am so grateful to Claudia Giani-Leber #frankfurtart #frankfurtartgallery #galerieartegiani @galerieartegiani
More of my drawings in ‘Drawing the Unspeakable’ at Towner in Eastbourne. These are ‘Attempted Healing’ 1994 and (both of the others) ‘Be a Phoenix’ 1998-2000
