I’m thrilled to be doing standup comedy for the first time on Saturday at Industrial Arts as a part of the spectacular lineup Serving Music, Comedy and (I’ll let you look at the poster…) While I suspect that everyone could use a laugh and a groove right about now, I KNOW that nothing terrifies fascists more than free assembly and free expression. We need to come together now more than ever and I so hope you’ll join us. (Ticket link in bio.) I won’t be going on until 9:45 for those who can’t make it earlier and I love so many of the people and bands in this program!

If you haven’t yet heard of @the.ellis.newburgh it’s just a matter of time before you do because The Ellis, a massive former church on Dubois Street in Newburgh, is destined to become the hottest nightclub in the Hudson Valley. And at Cosmic Love, their New Year’s Eve dance party, I’ll be serving as “The Conductor of Life.” You’ll have to come see for yourself just what that entails—as well as the costume—and there will be a lineup of top-notch DJs and champagne at midnight. (Ticket link in bio) Back in NYC I caught the last days of The Limelight and this decommissioned church kicks that decommissioned church’s ass. Please join us at midnight for a magical restart in this vast and stunning new venue. Happy New Year!

When you fry a Thanksgiving turkey you get a dispensation from having to dress up. (The next video shows it coming out and then a shot depicting the lack of ageism in the virulence of screens…) I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

What a joyous and unexpected honor it has been to embody Frank-n-Furter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as I’ve heard so many stories about how Tim Curry’s iconic character inspired people to step out of the rigid and limiting confines of Society and into their own. I’ll be taking my final Frank turn in a “shadow cast” screening on Saturday as part of the @hithousecreative contribution to Newburgh Fringe. (The “shadow cast” was invented in the Village when costumed attendees began campily bringing the action to life in front of interactive midnight screenings. Our screening begins at the more reasonable hour of 10 pm. :) If you’ve never seen the original cult classic, this is the perfect opportunity to see why this dazzling, superfun movie continues to mean so much to so many people. ALSO! We need more Transylvanians! Basically, the Transylvanians dance to the Time Warp and other songs while interactively partying. If you’re one of the many people who have confessed to me that you’d love to try performing, but are terrified to get out in front of people, this is the perfect, low-stakes opportunity (It’s Just a Jump to the Left) to break out of your comfort zone and perhaps see what’s next in store for you. Dress however you like—imagine going to a dance party with no theme. Or feel free to reference the movie. It’s going to be a bash and it would be great to have you join us. Please reach out to @nichtercornwell for more info and I’d love to see you on Saturday! Link in bio or grab tickets from attached QR code.

On Friday, my INXS tribute band DEVIL INSIDE will once again open for Trois Cat Sank (led by the incomparable Jean-Claude God Damn) for a superfantabulous night of 80s music. Period costumes and dancing are not required, but this may be the last time that DEVIL INSIDE plays for some time, so please join us! @untouchablenewburgh 40 Liberty St, Newburgh Friday, October 10 at 8 pm

One of the things I most love about Beacon is its seeming endless opportunities for people—especially people of a certain age—to try new things. Here I am doing my best Tim Curry at last week’s Rocky Horror Picture Show immersive experience. (link in bio) (I’ll be donning the fishnets once again for a shadowcast screening of the film on 10/25.) And on Saturday at @denningspointdistillery I’ll be performing as “The Redeemer,” a vaguely Shakespearen/Satanic character that comically comments on actors performing the anonymous TRUE CONFESSIONS of audience members. It's free, but if you'd like a seat, get there early and enjoy a cocktail. I hope to live up to my outfit...

Perhaps my favorite part of midlife is how things I airily fantasized about as a teenager during the 1980s are actually happening—35 years later. Here’s one more: On Thursday I’ll be part of an immersive Rocky Horror Picture Show experience. Without spilling here exactly what I’ll be performing, suffice it to say that I’ve got legs; I know how to use them. Please come join us! /events/hithousecreative/1822648 (Link also in bio)
