This is where it all began 25 years ago: my shift from oil to music. I owned a design agency ‘Planet3W’ in Aberdeen, Scotland, working in the oil industry. One day, at this WH Smith, I bought a copy of Smash Hits magazine and wondered if any of the artists had websites. None did, and the boyband on the cover, 5ive, became the first music website we built. Simon Cowell was my first client; he flew me down to London one day to explain what the internet was. Picture 3 shows the office I had at the time. After 5ive came Destiny’s Child, Beautiful South, All Saints and many more.
Rapper, producer and multi-instrumentalist Sam Cotton releases his debut six track EP ‘Afters At 109’ documenting the experiences at his room in halls at university, which doubled up as a bedroom studio and after hours creative hub / party venue!

It is with profound sadness that I share the news that Maxi Jazz passed away peacefully last night at his home in South London.
Maxi will be sorely missed by his family, friends, fellow musicians and his beloved community of fans from across the world, gained through his time in Faithless and more recently The E-Type Boys.
We will deeply grieve Maxi’s passing while we also remember the joy he brought to the world through his unique artistry and presence.
In 2006 we webcast a 21 night world tour from a basement in London then we toured the actual world, we got thrown out of hotels from LA to Paris and along the way we had a # 1 single and a # 1 triple platinum album. It was an incredible journey. Tonight brought back some amazing memories. They don’t make mirrors like they used to. @sandi_thom
