We are living in a culture that has "collapsed its frame of reference" around an activity that takes up roughly 4 to 6 hours out of 8,760 in a year. We’ve been conditioned to treat a sacred, life-creating act as a casual hobby, a "recreation" instead of a "reproduction."
When real life hits, when you're reaching for hope, faith, or survival this isn't the thing that sustains you. The act isn't the problem; the pedestal we've put it on is.
