New album out today
Metamodernism or something.
I could speak ad nauseam about the horrors of AI or how easy it is to manipulate reality. How our generation is Peter panning their way through “ unprecedented times” How i fall asleep every night to stupid videos on YouTube. How the Monoculture is dead (learned that word through YouTube) How incorporating exercise into my life has filled my algorithm with manosphere slop. Or how a soured relationship can never really end in this modern world because the thought of them being able to look you up online is always lingering. I could talk about all of that but I think at the same time the world is and will always be like this. Nothing is different nothing is new. Players only love you when they’re playing type shit.
All that and more I guess in 19 minutes. As always thank you to @domesticblissrecording and @kendepoto for helping these songs come to life, forcing me to be a better player, and making decisions above my pay grade. Getting to make music with two of the best dudes (also Kev and Chris) is a joy. Try your hardest to create and inspire.
Excited to announce this! Tomorrow on @wfmu ‘s @threechordmonte me and the band performed a live set in studio b! We broke 1 amp, 1 string and made it through the set. Tune in tomorrow 12-3 :) truly an honor
Big & Tall's third "Tiny Shelf" is out today. Filmed and recorded right inside our studio with the goal to showcase our friends and artists. Full performance link in bio. Special thanks to our featured performer @john.cozz video by @omarmhammouda
Unfortunately on Friday we had to say goodbye to Tink. Our nearly 20 year old bad ass chihuahua.
Everyday with her the past couple years has been a blessing. My heart mourns for Sam who had been her care taker since 2006. Things will never be the same. All I hope is that she’s in the great big Taco Bell in the sky with Otis and all her other friends. ❤️
This is Soldato Selects: Not to hype it up, but we have a bit of a local legend today... @john.cozz (of @cozzcoffee and the NJ DIY music scene) not only helps out next door at the up-and-coming @cafewillynj , but he even took the time to share some of his personal favorites from our record bins. From country legends to colorful album sleeves to sage advice on "taking risks" in your own collection, this one has it all.
Feel inspired to peruse the crates and grab some Cozz Coffee from the Cafe? Fear not! Soldato is open 7 days a week:
— Monday-Friday, 10am-8pm
— Sunday, 4-8pm
And @cafewillynj is open everyday (except for Sundays) from 10am—3pm.
Come on by, take a chance, and inspire your week! 🎸☕📚

Dust is settling from the past two busy weeks. Thank you to everyone who came out, packed in like sardines, sang along, and of course thanks to these guys for playing these songs and making them really come alive. I would love to do more of these kind of shows but it is hard and i’d like to keep the vibe for it special. That being said there are some cool music announcements I have coming up.
Pretty hard to top playing at Rutt’s Hut and Obals but if someone could get my rock and roll band to play an epic and or historic venue in Jersey lmk!

We put on a secret comedy show at @theruttshut and ended with a bluegrass set. Which doesn’t sound like a real sentence to me. Thank you @undergroundskateshop for the opportunity to make this board and put on this event. If you wanna see us do it again for longer and not a secret we’ll be at obals on Saturday
Today marks ten years of releasing music. Here are some photos that encapsulate some of my favorite memories of those 10 years.
I was at a rather low point mentally around this time, burnt out on skateboarding, spending every night at the bar, and realizing I probably wasn’t going to end up being an architect. Inspired by the structureless sounds of Anti-Folk Music I felt an impulse to write and record some songs of my own. They’re not good by any means but at that time I was just chasing the impulse of creation. Music has brought so many great people into my life and brought me places I never thought I’d go, like the meatlocker 🫣🫣 Most importantly it got me to a place where I could be comfortable with myself.
That being said, if you have an impulse to create go for it. Whether it’s music or painting, carpentry or baking. Do it. If you think you aren’t good enough, you’ll get better (you will still think you aren’t good enough but you will get better) Just made this post to say thanks to everyone who’s ever come out to a show, listened to any of my songs, and all 37 people who have played in my band at some point.
