4 years ago to the minute, I met you, and I’ll never forget the second I saw your face. It feels like only a day has passed, and a fully stuffed lifetime at the same time. Another @stagecoach400 in the books so here’s a bunch of photos of me eating junk food for 3 days.
Pretty stoked I was able to hold it together on one of the harder courses we’ve had, especially after getting bronchitis 3 weeks prior and showing up to the start line, what felt like, pretty unprepared. Managed to get 2-5 hours of sleep a night and finish in a little over 3.5 days. Battery bank failed pretty early on so I wasn’t able to listen to music at all during the race and felt like I went full on monk mode, head lamp(s) both died 4 miles from the finish so I was forced to back track out of cougar-country onto the highway and finish in the dark just using my phone light with maybe 5% left to spare. Not exactly ideal but that’s showbiz baby.
Felt like I’ve definitely improved psychologically compared to years past. Made the realization that if you’re tired laying down, you’ll be tired riding the bike, so you might as well be tired riding the bike while at least moving forward. Also, calories consumed while riding > calories consumed while idle. Stoked to get 20th out of 50ish something participants. On to the next one!

Couple weeks on the bike pedaling down the pacific coast of Costa Rica w/ @devymangs was unbelievable. Some very slow and tough miles but very very worth it. Siempre vale la pena 🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷 met some awesome people and friendly creatures along the way. Go ride your bike!
