Highest Peak summited in the Himalayas by a Heart Transplant Recipient ā¤ļøšļø
After a a tough 22 days on trailš
Reaching 6400m on Mera Peak but no actual āsummitā due to DEEP snow and buried fixed lines,
A hospital visit to lukla Via helicopter to treat Giardia (caught on trail due to my immunosuppressants) š
Swapping out Island peak to allow for recovery / managed to visit EBC which was off plan but a silver lining
And a TON of unspeakable incidents which I aināt sharing š
We FINALLY managed to bag a summit,
Obviously itās extremely niche but after a ton of research I can only see ONE other successful summit of a 6000m+ mountain in southern America by a HT recipient PLEASE correct me if you know different!
The Main challenges are
Having a suppressed immune system (infectionvillie)
No ānerve connection to the heart organā
Heart rate completely relies on hormone release
Minor nerve damage / lower V02 max than it probs should be
NHS and medical science gets some grief at times but I wouldnāt be here w/o either so shout out to them
Thanks everyone for the support itās honestly ridiculous that Iāve ended up here I canāt put it into words, im due a chill Month or 2 and to spend some time with my gf when I get home but Iāve got SO much content to unpack see you there!

The long gruelling road to the top of the alps, captured on my camera šø (Sony a7cii / 24mm G lens)
itās hard to explain how something can be so brutal and beautiful at the same time, mountaineering offers me one of the most raw human experiences, fire has been lit

This isnāt just a room to meā¦
Itās a reflection of the work over the last 3 years included but not limited too starting posting on socials, chasing real adventures, taking my fitness more seriously, learning to climb, pursuing mountains, spending weeks in a tent, building my campervan, visiting more countries than I can remember, moving out of my parents, meeting some incredible people and pushing my body and mind to at times breaking point
spending time in this room is a reminder to me that anyone can learn anything and donāt believe anything less!!
pls no one rob me

Would you cross a crevasse solo? š³
In the unlikely and unlucky event of a crevasse fall of one members of a rope team a crevasse rescue kit is essential to getting them back to the surface quickly and safely
(Rope teams practice)
1. Fall arrest
2. Anchor building
3. Load transfer
4. Haul setup
5. Extraction
Last summer we did abit of practicing out on the glacier, but this year itās all about repetition creating that muscle memory actually in conditions, itās one thing doing it at home where itās nice and warm and another in a snowstorm at 4000m
Any tips leave them in the comments!

My mum knows Iām safe when Iām with @protrekadventure
Been home just over a week now and had time to digest my time in Nepal, first thought itās actually laughable how selecive memory works (I guess itās preprogrammed in humans so women choose to have children more than once š) in the moment it was HARD, freezing and tough but looking back it was nothing less than an life changing month, I will be returning to the Himalayas as soon as I can š¤

It took me 26/27 years to realise that 7 out of 10 of my favourite memories are with the boys and the older you get is pretty sad but the more you grow apart with work and family commitments so if youāre younger than me (currently 29) make every effort u can to spend as much time with them creating that lore š¤ā¤ļø

Himalayas through my camera (1/3) šø
A brutal but unforgettable month, I will be back to Nepal as soon as possible! Made a few mistakes in hindsight but regardless spending time deep in the mountains offers me unmatched clarity and such a pure human experience šļø
