My family and I had to say goodbye today to our sweet girl Pupe’. She was with us for almost 17 years. We will miss her, the house doesn’t feel the same.
💔💔
Today did not start like any other day. Like many others, my heart sank when I saw the 1st post. Another cherished member of our city’s music family is gone far, far too soon. The contributions this man made to the life journey of others is large. I feel so grateful to have been able to spend the amount of time with him that I did, but also feel like I missed too much. My heart is with his family, all of those who have worked closely with him, all those he taught, all those he shared stages with, and anyone who just knew him as a friend. Michael, I will miss you my friend, but your memory will live on.. your legacy is large. I’ll always remember you as you are in this picture and in the many others I’ve seen today… smiling and loving people.
My grandfather, Robert W Weil. His friends all called him Bob. The first picture is him in 1942, the second is him shortly before he passed away in June of 1986. He was gone for 7 years fighting in WWII and serving in Europe post war. He retired a Lt. Col. He was a kind, wicked smart, creative, fiercely loyal disciplinarian. Proud of his country and his family. He had a very short tolerance for my BS, or anyone’s for that matter. He read like crazy, made incredible carvings and relief sculpture with wood. My 1st born is named after him. He taught me many things I still carry with me today. I feel so fortunate to have known him. He made it back. Many do not. God bless all those who lost their lives, those who’ve lost loved ones, and those who have sacrificed for the rest of us and continue to do so. 🙏
