“Optimism” - The Release Concert on 11/14 by @veritusmiller & @ronnieheard3 .
Though raining sparsely on this gloomy and cloud ridden evening in South Central LA, beyond the walls of @wgsarts felt like a commemoration of more than just the warmth and blankets of solace found within the space.
Fervent orange and yellow hues illuminated black art along the walls as those in attendance beamed a ray of light unique to themselves candidly, inviting those who saw them into a communion and presence of the moment itself. A resonance and sound, sweet like honey to the soul, seeped into each of their pores shortly after.
This was an experience of a new wave of jazz being birthed and nurtured, in concert.

Genesis, in the lens of her world that is ethereal.
Not subtle, but a teeming light that perforates the eyes of men to reveal the soul’s intent.
Rendered words from each woman she gathers here act as channels from a divine plane, and distinct dimension.
In the embrace of His, external resistance is engulfed and called out by name as all that preceded it reduces to ash.
All this while depicting grace, knowing these paths less traveled never came with a need to cling to the old receipts that once were used to define character.
It was always bigger than just her story.
