Purpose of This Petition
This petition is being circulated to request that the issue of collective bargaining for the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office be placed on the ballot for the citizens of Maverick County to vote on.
By signing this petition, you are not voting for or against collective bargaining.
You are simply requesting that the issue be placed on the ballot so that the voters of Maverick County can decide.
What is Collective Bargaining?
Collective bargaining allows deputies and jailers to have a voice by sitting down with county leadership to discuss and negotiate:
* Fair and competitive pay
* Adequate staffing levels
* Working conditions
* Job security and stability
Why This Matters
The men and women of the Sheriff’s Office serve and protect this community every day. However, many face:
* Low pay compared to surrounding agencies
* Staffing shortages
* Job uncertainty with changes in administration
Collective bargaining provides a structured and professional way to address these concerns and strengthen the department.

Good morning friends and family, I am currently collecting signatures for a petition to bring collective bargaining to the Sheriff’s Office.
What is collective bargaining?
It simply means deputies and jailers would have a voice and the ability to sit down with the county and talk about pay, staffing, and job security.
If you believe deputies are underpaid, understaffed, and that it’s not right that every time a new Sheriff comes in we all have to reapply for our jobs, then I’m asking for your support.
This petition is just to get it on the ballot so the people can decide.
