This coming Thursday, April 30, at 6 PM at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City. I’m giving a talk called From Mucha to Marvel as part of the Nelson-Atkins’ Timeless Mucha exhibition, which features roughly 150 works, including three of my own.
After my presentation, I’ll be in conversation with Dr. Aimee Marcereau DeGalan, their Senior Curator of European Art, and then we’ll open it up for an audience Q&A.

I just found out this city is home to the world’s most famous rodeo.
And this weekend, they followed that up with me.

Yesterday I watched Darth Vader walk past a guy in a ten-gallon hat and actual spurs.
Neither of them blinked.

My tailbone hurts. My voice is half gone, and I’ve signed my name so many times it’s starting to feel like an out-of-body experience.

It’s day one of the show.
There’s a specific energy in a convention hall before the doors open.
All that possibility. All that chaos.
