I’m thrilled to introduce to you the first public event by this exciting new chamber ensemble for voice I’ve started with some very dear and talented friends! 🌀Event Link in Bio🌀 Join us for a warm, intimate evening of harmony, harp, tea, and community in a special West Oakland location hosted by the amazing @alexiskmoran <3 Ardea Ensemble is a new vocal music project weaving polyphony, folk lineages, sacred music, contemporary arrangements, and classical choral music. Our current members are Amy Lovetus, Jordan Lowe, Joe Galang, and Rowan Katz, who active across a wide spectrum of musical performance and composition in the bay area. We’re joined by opener Liz Gobbo, a Berkeley-based harpist, singer, and songwriter. Her compositions weave together haunting harp arrangements, soaring vocals, and rich lyrical imagery to explore themes of death, grief, justice, queerness, mysticism, and magic. And that's a wrap on Little Shop of Horrors! It's been a real privilege - to put on Seymour's dorky glasses and cap like so many of my theater heroes, to share the stage with such a fun and talented cast (especially fellow leads @a1eshani @free_chavacado @afragamuffin and Thomas @chocolate_superman91 , the director of my first show), to be blessed with such an amazing set and a banger of an orchestra and a wonderful crew and creative team to help put it all together. We made it through the sweltering heat, a COVID scare the week of tech, and all the hijinks of an open-air theater experience, and I'm really damn proud of what we made together. Thank you Marc Jacobs for believing in me and in us, thank you to Ohlone Summerfest for an excellent experience, and thank you to all of you (far too many to name) who came out to watch and provide a really lovely audience! Performing in the Spongebob Musical has been a highlight of my life - everyone in the cast, crew, orchestra and creative team came loaded with talent, kindness, humor and delight. Cast, you all gave so much of yourselves to this show, and the passion really shone through. Endless thanks to everyone who came to pack our theater and share this joyous experience with us, and thank you to @paloaltoplayers for making this all possible!

30 Day Song Challenge, Day 22: a song that moves you forward Journey - Don't Stop Believin' So, there I was - sleep-deprived from long difficult travel, not vocally warmed up, 4 tequila shots and 4 cocktails in, just vibing with my beloved cousins in a pub at a resort in Cancun. 30 Day Song Challenge, Days 20&21 A song with multiple meanings (Semisonic - Closing Time) A song with a person's name in the title (Amy Winehouse/Mark Ronson/The Zutons - Valerie) I unfortunately had to miss a day yesterday due to Travelgeddon (my flight to Tennessee got delayed TWICE), but just had an amazing stay with my mom and stepdad John. We visited their wonderful, wonderful friends Nan and Mike, and I had the privilege of jamming with Mike on a few songs to catch up on the challenge (Mike's juuust out of frame on an acoustic bass). I ALSO had the privilege of playing with the four incredibly adorable calico kittens that Nan and Mike's lovely granddaughters are taking care of, and feeding carrots to their horses! As guests were arriving to their seats at that beautiful autumn-dappled hill in rural Pennsylvania, I had an impromptu duet to this song with my old AP Bio teacher Anu Thadani!
