AMERICAN MUSCLE // POSTER ART
I first came across @ericadrianleedesign after I saw a poster he did for The Last Stop in Yuma County directed by @francisgalluppi . It’s one of the best films I’ve seen in awhile and Eric’s artwork seemed to compliment it perfectly. I asked him if he’d like to take a look at my film, he said yes, and thus began many conversations about film and music and art and of making the right poster for this project. Inspirations came from noir films of the 70s and 80s like Straw Dogs and Blood Simple.
On our last day at CINEQUEST before our final screening, I wanted to share the poster he created for American Muscle.

TWO // AMERICAN MUSCLE @gbengaakinnagbe plays the role of Two in American Muscle. Working with Gbenga has been a dream of mine since watching him in The Wire when I was in college. Gbenga has the kind of presence as an actor - like Brando or Denzel - that when he’s on screen, you simply cannot take your eyes off of him; he commands your attention. The work seems effortless. He’s absolutely amazing in this film.
