Solo Piano Vol. 1 is out now!!šš
I am beyond excited to share this music with you all. This album feels very meditative to me and was recorded at a vulnerable time in my life. Each and every song on this album are songs that I deeply trustāalmost like little friends of mineāthat I have explored throughout my life.
Iād like to thank all of the incredible artists that I was blessed to collaborate with on this album:
Painting: @art_by_chinthika
Design: @nimenionmaria
Photography: @danbarychev
Mixing/engineering: @ssacco11
Mastering: @owen.mulholland.music
Thank you to Benny Green, Sullivan Fortner, Isaiah J. Thompson, and Bruce Barth for taking the time to listen to the music and write such beautiful testimonials. You are all heroes of mine who inspire me.
Thank you to all of my family and friends who have supported me throughout this whole process.
Peace and loveš«š¶

Shoutout to @joeblockchords for this arrangement of America the Beautiful!! Played by @jazzdotorg
Pulled out a short sax section and added chord symbols + analysis to show whatās really happening harmonically.
A lot of this sound comes from rootless voicings and inner movementāthings we think about on piano that translate directly into orchestration and section writing!!

This piano felt particularly buttery š§š“ ⦠when I get to a new venue, I like to warm up with a ballad, often in an unconventional key. I find that doing so engages and calms my mind š¶āš«ļø

New transcription from @joeblockchords
This oneās In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning from his Solo Piano Vol. 1 album.
What really pulled me in were the voicings and his harmonic approach ā so much intention and color throughout. Listening to and transcribing this has been a joy and a great source of fresh harmonic ideas.
