Pick up a copy of this month’s Wallpaper Magazine to see the Armitage Lamp collection shot in Le Corbusier’s ATMA building, Gujurat India.
This year is 70 years since the original floor lamp left India and we’re incredibly grateful to have been able to carry out this shoot to celebrate the homecoming.
The photographs were masterfully captured by @devacheez and the story has been carefully composed by @cristinapiotti .
Special thanks to @wallpapermag team including @hugomacd@sophiegladstone and @biscott_i and
@ninayashar and @nilufargallery for facilitating the shoot.

A big thanks to @nilufargallery and @ninayashar for taking the Noveconi chandelier to India. Link in bio to a new article in @archdigestindia written by the talented @aditijourno about the story behind the peice and its significance within the evolution of design in India around the time of the modernist movement. “I feel a strong affinity with India, and I’m so glad that the chandelier is being shown on Indian soil. I’m excited to see how the lamp and the entire collection integrate into the design landscape of the country,” @nilaya.anthology@teaonthebluesofa
Adjustable wall lamps commissioned by the @impala.soho team for their new restaurant. Inspired by the detailing of Carlo Mollino and Carlo Scarpa these lamps are connected to a stainless steel vertical track with wing nuts to allow easy adjustment.
The shades are formed from a cylinder of PET parchment which appears to float between a solid turned walnut part and a curved stainless steel deflector.

An Armitage Triple suspension lamp and Accent lamp illuminate the private dining room at the Lasdun restaurant in the National Theatre. Interiors by @gsl_works
The National Theatre, completed in 1976, is Denys Lasdun’s Grade I-listed monumental brutalist masterpiece. Its distinctive ‘waffle slab’ floor plate is Lasdun’s signature structural solution which can be seen across a number of his buildings. Despite being an expensive option, he favoured it as an aesthetic choice and because of its superior acoustics.

With the Christmas holidays approaching, central London comes alive as people visit to catch up with friends and family, dine together, and make the most of the Capital’s vibrant cultural offering.
Nestled at the back of the Lasdun restaurant at the National Theature is the Private Dining Room – a paired-back timber walled room where an Armitage Triple suspension Lamp adds sculptural drama.
The Lasdun is named in homage to Sir Denys Lasdun, the architect of the National Theatre. the restaurant is the brainchild of Tom Harris and Jon Rotherham the team behind the Marksman – London’s first Michelin starred pub.
The interiors have been masterfully created by John Whelan and the team behind the Guild of St Luke (GSL). The restaurant channels Lasdun’s brutalist design cues but warmth and tactility are introduced with clever detailing and atmospheric lighting.
