time continues to feel strange + a little surreal. on this day last year, at least according to my analog paper calendar, i was frantically working on a soon-to-be-due phd application while on break from my university job. i had drawn a lot of exclamation marks and a ":(". today, i'm recovering from a whirlwind of a first semester and slowly gearing up for round 2.
it's hard to believe that 2023 involved the release of two L CON records (thank you for your trust + support
@halocline_trance +
@ideefixerecords ), the making of ambitious music videos on mountains + rocks (keep your eyes out for one in the new year), an intense journey of learning as a technical coordinator at the university of guelph, and moving to a new city to start a graduate program. some very cool releases i worked on in a mixing capacity were also released into the world! thank you
@stefanafratila @becoming_in_shadows @strangerstillsongs @thelegacysongproject for your trust. please check out all of their work if you're looking for more music.
entering the new year filled with gratitude ~ it's been a challenging year for sure, filled with many tears, restless sleeps, + some lyme flare-ups, but what a gift to continue to make art, especially with dear friends, to have been able to consciously say goodbye to my friend richard, to travel to see family, and to keep encountering kindness + generosity + community in a world that often feels devastating + overwhelming + heavy + exhausting. trying to be on this platform a little less these days, but please don't be a stranger. i think 2024 might be the year of the spontaneous phone call, the postcard, the love letter, the last-minute invite.
