RSA Films welcomes acclaimed filmmaker Joachim Rønning @joachimronning for Special Projects. A versatile director, Joachim’s catalogue of movies ranges from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales to the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated Kon-Tiki. He also directed Maleficent: Mistress of Evil starring Angelina Jolie, and the critically acclaimed Young Woman and the Sea, the story of the first woman to swim the English Channel. Joachim’s most recent film, Tron: Ares (Jared Leto, Gillian Anderson, Jeff Bridges) had fans raving noting its stunning visuals and Nine Inch Nails soundtrack. He is currently in production on Keys of Life, a documentary about the 100-year-old piano behind hit songs such as “Hey Jude”, “Your Song”, “Life On Mars”, “You’re So Vain“, “Killer Queen” and “Perfect Day”.

A new cycle begins. Tron: Ares has earned 2 nominations at the 24th annual Visual Effects Society Awards including “Outstanding Environment in a Photoreal Feature” and “Outstanding CG Cinematography.”
Going into making TRON: ARES I knew that getting the music, sound and VFX right was going to be paramount. We had some enormous shoes to fill. Working with these amazing people throughout the one and a half year post period became the most rewarding experience of my career.

The last video is captured the day I heard the opening cue for the first time at Trent and Atticus’ place (temp picture). It was a very emotional moment for me, mostly because I was just so grateful they were part of our team.

What do the songs, “Hey Jude”, “Your Song”, “Life On Mars”, “You’re So Vain”, “Killer Queen” and “Perfect Day”, have in common? They were all played and recorded on the same piano: a C. Bechstein at Trident Studios in Soho, London, in the seventies.
