Hey y’all 👋 it’s been a minute since I’ve posted on here, and I’ve got a few things to share.
This past Friday marked 9 months since I quit alcohol completely and stepped into something unknown. I sleep better, I’m consistently happier, and my playing has become more focused and joyful. I never felt like I hit a “rock bottom,” but I wasn’t expecting just how much it would change my life for the better. It hasn’t fixed everything, and that was never the goal or expectation, but it’s given me a whole new sense of purpose.
In April, I left my job of 3 years at Gibson to chase a dream of teaching guitar. I found a shop just 5 minutes from my house that lets me teach out of it, and it honestly feels like I fell in love with the guitar all over again. Forever grateful to the folks over at
@tone_central_station and their amazing store 🙌 I worked on thousands of guitars at Gibson, doing setups and adjustments, and that experience finally gave me the confidence to say I think I know what I’m doing here. Revisiting old notes and crafting a personal lesson plan has felt like putting my 15+ years of playing to real use. I’ll be sharing things I learn and want to teach right here. If you’re in Nashville or anywhere else, you can be part of this journey. Just reach out.
On top of all this, I recorded my favorite songs to play live over at
@lastdollarstudioz 🎙️ These are the cleanest, most focused, and most liberating recordings I’ve put out so far. We recorded everything. I’ll be sharing clips from the whole process, and a live EP is dropping this Monday, August 11th :) Give it a watch, give it a stream, and let me know what you think. To me, it’s just a little way to share some joy with anyone who needs it.
The song featured on this post is a new instrumental I call “Kudzu”. If you wanna hear or WATCH it before anybody else, click the link in my bio :)
Love y’all. I’ll be back soon 🤍
