Braided Wig Wrap
For this stunt setup on Hijack, I created a braided wig wrap for the stunt double of Christine Adams, who plays Marsha in Hijack Season 2.
The performer has extremely long natural hair, so the key challenge was compressing the length while maintaining a smooth, secure base that would sit flat under the Afro wig used for the character. The wig was a short (Grade 4/5) lace wig, and because the style was very short there was virtually no room for hair bulk underneath — any excess volume would have shown immediately on camera.
To solve this, I used tight, directional cornrows braided close to the scalp and wrapped them into a compact spiral foundation to evenly distribute the length and reduce height. The cornrow pattern was also designed to mirror the natural head shape and braid direction of the main cast, ensuring the wig silhouette matched Christine’s proportions for continuity on screen.
Here’s a snapshot of the process — from the performer’s natural length, to the compact braid foundation.

The HERO look for Rebecca in Hijack Season 2.
@isobelimade
Across months of shooting, I worked closely with Jojo & the team to track and maintain Rebecca’s braid continuity, refining the structure, texture, and overall finish to reflect her journey across the season.
The braids were built using hand-mixed extensions to mirror her natural depth and dimension on camera, keeping the scalp work clean and the stitch pattern structured so the style could gradually break down as the story progressed.
As the episodes intensify, the braids subtly evolve — starting controlled and polished, then slowly introducing softness, flyaways, and natural wear to reflect the character’s changing circumstances while maintaining continuity between scenes.
Here’s a closer look at the braiding details, colour blend, and stitch work used to create Rebecca’s on-screen look.

Good prep = faster braiding
My most commonly asked question is: ‘How long does it take to braid?’
The answer: ‘it depends on how good the hair prep was.’
