There is no one else I could have wanted to have spent the last 10 years with. No one else I would want to share the highs, lows, and the mundane with. No one else I would want to raise the sweet baby Ivy with. I’m so lucky we get to share this life together. I love you Courtney.
Once more round the sun.
In my 26th year, I moved in with my partner of almost 10(!) years, I found a job that doesn’t fill me with dread or give me anxiety attacks, I released an album, I played a few shows out of state, I learned to let go, I met a ton of amazing people, and I grew closer to many more.
I could linger on the bad, the awful, the frustrating, the hurt, but honestly I’d rather just remember the good. I’m hopeful for the future and of what’s to come, and I welcome it all. Also hopefully take more pictures with you guys.
Happy Birthday to my best friend, to my favorite concert companion, to the mama of the sweet Ivy, and my best friend: the lovely Courtney Capra. You are so wise, intelligent, and an inspiration to me. You fill my life with beauty and joy that cannot be fully quantifiable. I can’t wait to see what this year brings you!
This was meant to be a sappy birthday post but the past week was a bit hectic, so now it’s a late night sappy gratitude post. Just a small collection of my favorite moments from the past year, featuring some of my favorite people as well people that I have been very fortunate to have met.
1) Zion National Park with my beautiful partner, the lovely Courtney Capra.
2) Post show photo after three shows in a week.
3) Blessing of the rings of my brother and sister-in-law.
4) One of my new favorite photos of myself.
5) The sweet, little baby, Ivy.
6) Live band photo, courtesy of the talented Vicki, one of the many people I have been lucky to cross paths with.
7) Post Double EP release show with the incredible people of @pinksqueeze_music (seriously go check them out before they become the biggest band from Chicago so you can say you were there before it was cool!)
8) Metallica at the Metro
9) Love Is A Fire Escape, but it’s just the chorus vocals. It just hit 1300 streams, so go check it out if you haven’t!!
There are so many more moments and memories I wish I could share, but perhaps I’ll just have to do better this year about sharing them in a timely manner.
I have decided to postpone the diversification of my social media for a later date.
Until then, you should listen to my band’s latest EP ‘Growing Pains’. It’s been out for about a month now and people seem to enjoy it, so I think you will too.
Thank you to @victoriamariephotos for capturing these moments from our EP release show. We’re super happy with how they turned out!
I was recommended to diversify my Instagram, but I’ll get to that later.
Just wanted to share that little band that I’m in, the one I never talk about, yeah @cutyourlosseschi is playing a Double EP release show on January 6th with the wonderful and talented @pinksqueeze_music and I couldn’t be more happy about it. Our dear friend @apbchi and the incredible @boundarywatersband helped put this whole thing together and is providing their beautiful sounds and I cannot express how stoked I am for this show.

My band was asked to contribute a song to the Artists for Black Lives Matter compilation album. All proceeds will go directly to My Block, My Hood, My City and their efforts to help black owned businesses that may have been damaged during protests.
Because Bandcamp and Paypal take a 25% cut of album sales, if you donate directly to My Block, My Hood, My City, and send us donation receipt(screenshot or email will do), we will send you a digital copy of the compilation.
The link to the album, and subsequently the link to My Block, My Hood, My City, is in my bio.
Special thanks to @joeysewall for including us on this.
Quarantine birthdays, I do not recommend. What I do recommend is having someone who is willing to to drive 40 something miles from Cary to Chicago, to decorate your front gate, and celebrate with you for a couple hours in front of your house. Now that’s pretty nice.
Forget the Founding Fathers and the ‘92 Bulls: there’s no finer group of people than the ones in UIC Radio. I am so lucky to be a part of this.
Sorry Izzy, but Instagram made me crop you out of the second picture. 😬
