To those who’ve endured with me…
To all the flights caught, when we fell asleep in the studios, when I couldn’t get it right. All of your contributions made for unforgettable memories.
Cheers 🥂
Introducing the performing artist for our second show on May 2: jjared (@jjared.j )
Raised in Toronto’s blur of concrete, cold nights and quiet ambition, jjared’s music lives in the in-between: between confidence and doubt, love and detachment, noise and confession. Each song feels like a late-night thought you weren’t supposed to say out loud, wrapped in melodies that linger long after the last note fades.

annexhotels jjared : Late Check Out EP4
One room. Two songs. No rush.
@jjared.j performs “Silver Lined Eyes” (original) and “Sparks” (Cold Play). Presented by @socanmusic .
Late Check Out is an intimate performance series by The annex Hotel presented by SOCAN, created to spotlight Canadian songwriting in its most honest form. Filmed on site, each monthly session invites artists passing through Toronto to slow down, settle in, and share one original and one cover. Stripped back, story-first, and rooted in craft. It’s about the quiet moments between shows, when the road pauses and the music speaks loudest.

Would you still love me if I’d ran out of gold? If my pockets fell empty and we’re stuck in this cold. Have to pawn off my Air Force and this guitars getting sold.. would you still sing a love song for me? Or do I sing on my own?

Sound engineering: @callmeack
Born in Toronto, Ontario, jjared brings a perspective shaped by honesty, emotion, and lived experience. His music blends raw storytelling with atmospheric influences drawn from artists like Empire of the Sun, Stereolab, and the sonic engineering behind Jeff Buckley’s Grace — creating a sound that feels both intimate and expansive.
His journey as an artist has continued to grow through his connection with the Green Tea community, where collaboration, feedback, and support have helped him refine his sound and reach new listeners. That environment has played a key role in helping him navigate releases while building meaningful relationships with other artists and creatives along the way.
His latest release, “Chew Ur Food (DU 4U),” is a deeply personal record rooted in real-life moments. The song captures raw, conversational storytelling pulled directly from recent experiences — unfiltered and emotionally honest. Even the cover art carries that authenticity: a real photo taken on a date with the girl the song was written about.
Looking ahead to 2026, jjared’s goals are centered on growth and connection — creating more unforgettable experiences, meeting new people, exploring new places, and continuing to push beyond perceived limits. As more listeners connect with his music and share how it impacts their lives, his mission has become bigger than just the songs themselves.
With multiple singles on the horizon and a new chapter of music unfolding, this next wave represents both evolution and intention.
✨ The journey continues. 🎶
Be stable, but if you aren’t able
Won’t you give yourself to me,
Willingly.
True boredom is a choice
So stand up make your noise my son
Stand and make your noise
Pull it out of your lungs
