❣️🪲 2025 in review 🪲❣️
this was an incredible year filled with milestones. I gave my first academic conference papers, took part in my first artist residency, did my first proper entomology field training and was awarded a two year poetry mentorship with NPL (who knows if I’m allowed to say that yet lol). I also started Feminist Bird Club Dundee with Alison, continued organising for better future and proposed a different citywide environmental literacy project that got funded eeek. I went to seven different countries for the first time (it’ll be eight before the years done!) & Giving a talk on bugs to 500 people was crazy and I still can’t believe I got to do that.
I met so many phenomenal important people this year who I hold very dear, and continued giggling with everyone from the year before. I returned to my MRes, kept my job in libraries and started to believe in the weird interdisciplinary work I’ve been creating across environmental/cultural sectors. New hobbies rose, climbing and macro photography are so fun and I can’t wait to get dead into bird photography. I didn’t move to Spain and I am glad I didn’t because every bit of my life bloomed in the wake of that epic non voyage.
I can’t remember any other year where I’ve been so excited to continue on the same path, cause 2026 is already filled with dreamy exciting bits that I am dizzy over. Thank you and big buggy love to everyone who made this year so great, I can’t wait to see you in the next one x
I was lucky enough to spend time learning from @aos_alb on a Bird Ringing Artist Residency, alongside exceptionally brilliant and kind ornithologists, scientists, researchers, and artists. Everyone knows I shout about how truly I do love bugs, but I have also been a life long birder and I find few things as joyful as witnessing birds in the wild.
Autumn migration allows for birds to be caught, recorded, ringed and released which supports science and conservation efforts for migratory species. Learning from and supporting the crucial migration tracking the Albanian Ornithological Society do was a severe privilege.
I’m writing the days away at the moment, there is SO much more to be said, written, created… and I held back on saying anything on here because I didn’t want to admit it was over (for now) and want to do this wonderful organisation justice.
Missing everyone, the exquisite flatlands of Divjakë-Karavasta very very very much, mozzie bites and all. Thank you so much to the AOS team and my fellow artists for making the experience so genuinely wonderful. ‼️🇦🇱❣️

BIRD RINGING AND ART RESIDENCY IN ALBANIA 🇦🇱 🦅
i was blessed to partake in this residency, the first merging of art and ecology in this way in Albania. a week of connexion, cocreation, beauty and gathering with beings from around the world 🌎 this week was a forehead kiss, affirming my creative practice of drawing together humans and nature in unlikely and exciting ways 👾 a week of exiting survival and entering presence and the unexpected treasures she brings 🐣 growing up in ends with so many Albanians and Kosovans gave me such curiosity about this place // what a joy to meet her in this way 🥹🥰🌷
a week of friendship and relationship building with eachother and the land 🥹 may this energy continue and migrate like the beautiful birds we held 🌬️🪶

Durante los últimos meses tuve la oportundad desarrollar este proyecto en el marco de la residencia curatorial de @bardo_projektraum + @karnekunst que me brindó un espacio de exploración y reflexión para repensar los procesos migratorios, y los refugios que nos inventamos en el camino, a través del arte.
Fue intenso y espectacular en partes iguales, y fue gracias a todes les que formaron parte.

No puedo escribir nada. Me aborda la emoción, me conmueven las palabras. No tengo o no encuentro vías apropiadas para que la (con)moción no me desborde. Me cuesta encontrar una síntesis, pero como siempre fui de sacar muchas fotos, de capturar muchos momentos, me dispongo a hacer una breve y siempre injusta selección de los últimos dos solsticios y equinoccios. Allá van. Que se mejoren.
Vení que te muestro que si vale la pena soñar
Hubo una época que esto era tierra arrasada. Suelo desnudo, autos estacionando, incendios, basura.
Un ambiente degradado es difícil que genere sentido de apropiación, ganas de cuidarlo, de sentirse interpelado por ese sitio como colectivo, cómo común, cómo lugar para compartir.
Eso es lo que leyó el Movimiento Universitarios Tierra (U Tierra) surgido de las llamas de la Cumbre de la Tierra en Río 1992. Movimiento que enraizó en Ciudad Universitaria y hoy cosechamos sus frutos.
Planta desafiante para cuidar y hacer crecer la del universitario. La rutina, el desden y la frustración de una carrera pueden llevar a que cuando te recibas quieras festejar con furia y alegría, con frenetismo y descontrol que la meta ha llegado.
Hoy, cientos se sientan y comparten un mate, una charla, una siesta a la sombra de los arboles que plantamos. No fue magia. Para que podamos hacerlo nos antecedieron 4 décadas de generaciones de pibas y pibes que se organizaron para proteger la Reserva Ecológica de Ciudad Universitaria y su Zona de Amortiguación.
Salud y pestañá que no estás soñando y de a poquito lo que sembramos lo estamos cosechando. Siempre para los demás, siempre para adelante. Con mucho coraje, mucho amor y mucha solidaridad.
5' en el paraíso. Esta escena se repite todos los días, de lunes a viernes, desde el mediodía hasta el atardecer. Y por eso, estamos muy contentos. Disfruten, es para ustedes.
