Why dance and musical theater can't be replaced by AI. After almost 25 years representing dancers and musical theater performers, here's where I've landed on the AI conversation: I think live performance is going to be the final frontier. Audiences are about to be so overwhelmed with AI in every sector of their lives that they'll start to turn against it — at least where entertainment is concerned — and go looking for real human interaction and storytelling. You can't remove the human from musical theater and dance and have it still be authentic. There's something specific that a real performer brings into the room. AI can't replicate that. I think dance, musical theater, and what I've started calling "the movement economy" are about to be more popular than ever. At least, that's what I hope. — Jim Keith, Owner & Sr. Agent, MTA #MusicalTheater #Dance #Choreography #Broadway #LiveTheater #TalentAgent #MovementTalentAgency #TheMovementEconomy #AIinHollywood

"We only make 10% because we only do 10%." 💼 It's a sound bite I've used for years — and it puts the agent-client relationship in perspective. Your agent works hard for you. But the performers who book consistently? They meet them halfway. After years in this business, I can tell you: the ones who get cast aren't necessarily the most talented people in the room. They're the ones who show up prepared, who keep their skills sharp, and who treat the partnership like the partnership it actually is. Most performers wait. They wait for the email. They wait for the phone call. They wait for someone else to create the opportunity. And then when the audition finally comes, they're rusty, their materials are outdated, and they're scrambling. The ones who book? They're already warm. Already ready. Already showing up online and in the room as the version of themselves casting actually wants to see. Swipe through for 5 simple, actionable things you can do right now to help your agent help you — and ultimately, book more work: ✦ Update your online profiles + headshots ✦ Build a real arsenal of reels and clips ✦ Be a true team player (communicate, always) ✦ Stay in training, no matter the budget ✦ Take your social media seriously None of this is complicated. Most of it is free. #ActorsLife #MusicalTheatre #AuditionTips #AgentLife #PerformingArts #CastingTips #BroadwayBound #ActorAdvice #DancersOfInstagram #SingersOfInstagram #ActingCoach #AuditionLife
