Jim Inglese announces the availability of a faithful reproduction of the Weber 58DSF carburetors
originally developed for the Shelby Cobra 427 in 1963, and first seen on the famous "Flip Top" Cobra. The DSF designation came from "Doppio Scarico Frazionato" which referenced split ports. A small handful of these big-bore carburetors were made for use on the Ford bigblock FE
competition engines, and today, those originals are rarer than hen’s teeth and worth a fortune.
The new 58mm carburetors are exquisitely reproduced in every detail, and are sold in sets of four. The authentic reproduction data plates are available from another source and can be added, or the
customer can purchase them separately and send them for attachment while their carbs are being
prepared. Manifolds are under development for these carburetors to mount on a Ford FE engine.
Each set of carburetors is custom-jetted to order, and the lead time for prep and shipping is 1 week. Orders are being filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
