Making songs for a collection of songs, but also liking the idea of little intermission pieces like this on it too.
I taped the strings of the piano right under the hammers with masking tape cause I saw someone do it here and I love the muted effect.
Plus, to me it sounds like music from a western even though it likely doesn’t at all. Makes me miss playing during the old COVID times.

Here’s a bit of Ontario in open D tuning on a guitar that was made for me by Phillipe Custeau of Sherbrooke, QC. The headstock inlay is my initials in Morse Code and @jacobbryce77 did the design for it.
I’m honoured that Philippe did this and gifted it to me.
It sure can be a fortunate life.
Over the past year I have had the absolute pleasure to have these @colesmicrophones 4038’s in my studio. Originally designed for the BBC, these “pancake” mics are legends and I’ve used them on so many sources but def drums and acoustic instruments and piano and percussion and amps and even voices, which perhaps they are less known for. It’s incredible to me that I’ve been able to have such beauties in my small space and they are one of the essential pieces/tools that I own.

It’s almost the time of year where I can sit outside and listen to records on this cheap record player and annoy the audiophiles with pictures like this.
For context: my indoor turntable is a Thorens 166, this is just for mostly listening to dollar bin records and sometimes putting on a nice record and enjoying being outside on the porch.
