I needed this but…
Some people can unplug on holiday, but I’ve never mastered the art. While others lounge by the pool or nap in hammocks, I find myself restless, scanning for angles, textures, and light. A holiday for me isn’t downtime - it’s raw material. With camera in hand, every street corner, shoreline, and café table becomes a scene waiting to be framed. The idea of sitting still feels almost wasteful when there’s so much to capture, create, and experiment with. Relaxation, in the traditional sense, has never been my strong suit.
Instead, I chase inspiration the way others chase rest. A camera becomes an extension of me, a reason to move, explore, and dig deeper into a place. I can’t help but see every holiday as a chance to expand my creative archive, to find something new that speaks to me visually. Even when I tell myself I’ll take it easy, I inevitably end up documenting moments, shaping stories, and filling memory cards. My version of “relaxation” is different, I don’t step away from creativity on holiday; I lean further into it. It took me a long time to be okay with that.

Sadly, this lil time capsule is no longer standing. It was one of the most fun to explore with its unexpected layout and design detailing. This house was conceptualized long before the days of Pinterest, straight from the owners imagination.
Marbles let colourful light shine through the cedar shutters, walls were tiled from head to toe, stain glass was tucked into cheeky places, and wood dominated the walls.

The part I struggle most with as a content creator is that I’m very rarely without my camera. My friends have gotten used to it, my family tolerates it, and my dog loves the attention. It’s hard to turn it off, as every moment is a “moment” and when I miss it, it sits with me for longer than it should.
