More than 10 years ago, I started an initiative called Complex Free, a mission focused on secondary school students, building confidence, instilling responsibility, and helping them stay aligned with their career paths.
On the 5th of May 2026, after a long pause, that vision returns with renewed energy and a new name - WE RISE.
There is no better place to restart this journey than my alma mater, Amuwo Odofin Secondary School, Mile 2, where the journey of my life truly began.
The warm reception I received was deeply moving. Memories came flooding back. Though a lot has changed, but some things are still exactly the way I left them 26 years ago. Walking through those grounds again was emotional and humbling.
I don’t want to wait until I become very wealthy before giving back. There is no crime in starting small and supporting my roots from the little I have. Impact doesn’t always begin with abundance, it begins with willingness.
A special thank you to my friend and old schoolmate Joshua, for ensuring a smooth outing , also a big shoutout to alumnus Segun as well as alumnus Alake, who heard about my coming and also showed up to support , your presence and support meant a lot.
When photos of the dilapidated structures and worn-out blackboards were shared with me by Joshua , I knew I had to step in. I couldn’t fix everything at once, but I fixed what I could, and I’ve made a promise to return and do more.
A special and sincere appreciation to Mr. Yinka for your moral support and helping to facilitate the brands that supported us with take-home items for the students: Indomie, Minimie Chin Chin, and Colgate. Your generosity added joy and value to the day.
I mustn’t fail to acknowledge these brilliant and hardworking chaps who are always at my beck and call , Seyi, Naheem, Saheed , thank you so much , and my media guys Nuel and Hameed . I love you all .
This is only the beginning, more schools will be reached, and more lives will be shaped.

Barrister Muyiwa’s 50th was a beautiful milestone to witness and anchor. My sincere appreciation to his amazing wife for hiring me and for insisting the celebration held , because truly, 50 is a big deal. While some prefer it loud and grand, this was classy, intentional, and deeply meaningful.
