I refuse to choose
Between time and space.
The blues will always choose sadness,
The clock will never wait
And I will sit waiting for six to make this prayer.
There are no answers either way,
Faith has gone to sleep
Though I still make these prayers.
I will choose
Between today and one day.
I have wrapped my dream in the colors of tomorrow
I have fed them
And I wait for six to touch the sun.
There are rays either way,
Hope will wake
And he will wake faith to this bliss.
The choices of a poet,
To be mad or to die.
Time might forget you
Space will eat your remains.
The world is blind and deaf,
Make a choice either way,
So the poet’s dream might live
And hell will taste heaven.

Flowers can grow teeth.
If we must die by the farmer’s hands,
We must learn to fight him too.
First, we give off our petals to the wind,
Wait for the farmer to pray to his Chi for rain,
Then, grow teeth instead of seeds.
It is how we will fight:
We will make the trees and wind our allies,
They give sound to the voiceless leaves,
Teach them that rage is a language,
And prayers become stones
For all the layers of fine compost,
For all the words tangled therein
Pleated and parked in our roots,
And cut every skin with the truth
There is no need to shade the truth,
He trades our seeds for wealth,
Weed us out when we are tired or late
He smiles when he sees us bloom,
Don’t smile back,
Take a bite from his arm instead,
Dig into his garment,
And leave your teeth buried therein
So he never forgets this fight
