I’m sure many MANY of you (our friends) know this pup., Denali (Ali). We lost her today, unexpectedly, to an unforeseen prognosis of hemangioma sarcoma, a mass that had ruptured in her spleen, or liver…not sure which.
She had an acute episode this morning which sent her to the emergency hospital with a very bleak prognosis, and we chose to heartbreakingly put her down. David and I are devastated.
This girl knew no strangers, and everyone who came into our house was her immediate friend, and showered with love and undying affection, IYKYK,
We bid farewell to our girl, and know she is in a much better place, pain-free, knowing she was loved.
Actors' Repertory Theatre of Simi is holding auditions for the role of Teen Fiona in our upcoming five-performance extension of SHREK at the El Portal Theatre, scheduled for August 21-23. We are looking for a talented teenage actress (16-18 years) with an average height and build, and extensive experience in musical theatre. Another experimental recipe with great results. Fresh tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, a healthy amount of minced garlic sautéed in olive oil and butter, red wine, and wilted arugula. I made this in Mexico over the weekend and the store had no fresh basil, so I subbed organic arugula. What a happy surprise! (Red pepper flakes optional, but a little salt and pinch of sugar works).
Spent the day as tour guide yesterday with this remarkable group of friends and exemplary humans. Their appreciation and instant love for my adoptive country, rich with history and a people who welcome the stranger, and know how to celebrate life every day, filled me with an overwhelming joy.
