Next up, we’re pleased to share the acquisition of
@jflauda ’s 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘥 (2023–2024) at
@art_toronto .
An artist and musician, Lauda draws inspiration from sound and rhythm, often allowing music to guide his artistic process. His work reflects a deep preoccupation with time—both the slow, layered process of creation and the duration of the viewer’s encounter.
Through delicate layers of paint, erasure, and revision, Lauda explores disintegration and transformation, leaving behind traces of earlier gestures as quiet evidence of the work’s evolution. The result is a painting that feels both meditative and in motion—an abstract composition that holds the memory of its making.
Purchased with support from the McMichael Transformation Fund. Thank you to
@elikerrhq and the Art Toronto team.
