A glimpse of our CommUNITY Journey, which was both powerful and spiritual. We were united by our purpose and pride in how our Houston community continues to make a difference in Israel. 🇮🇱 We carry with us the strength and determination of the Jewish people, and we renew our own commitment to stand with Israel, not just in words, but in action. 💙#JFedCommUNITYJourney #hummusandhouston 🎶 🇮🇱🎶 The music in this reel is from @yoninamusic , who delighted us with their harmonies over Shabbat.

As we continue celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month, we recognize Mitchell (Michael) Westheimer, a German‑born immigrant whose impact on Houston still shapes daily life. In 1895, he dedicated land to Harris County. This land became Westheimer Road, now the longest major thoroughfare in Texas. His story reflects how early Jewish Texans embraced the wide‑open possibilities of the frontier and helped build the foundations of our communities. #JAHM

Last week, young adults from the Houston Jewish community showed up to make new connections and welcome those who are New to HOU. 🥂✨This was the capstone project of our 7th FedU Cohort. Our Young Adult Division (YAD) is the hub for connecting young adults to form lasting community, and that momentum continues at our next event THIS Sunday!

Jewish American Heritage Month celebrates the many ways Jewish Americans have shaped our nation, including here in Texas. Our social media series will highlight several remarkable trailblazers, beginning with Justice Ruby Sondock, the first woman ever to serve on the Texas Supreme Court, and Justice Rose Spector, the first woman elected to the Court. Both opened doors that had never been opened before. Their leadership reflects the resilience, civic commitment, and pursuit of opportunity that define the Jewish American experience. #JAHM

Your generous gift to our Annual Campaign enables our Education Department to expand our education tent, so every child and family feels they have a place in Jewish Education in the Greater Houston community. Our Jewish Education Inclusion Coordinator provides family consultations and referrals, and convenes local Jewish professionals to connect, collaborate, and build capacity to support school-based services and an inclusive learning environment. As One, we will build an even stronger future--locally and globally. Link in bio to make your gift to the 2026 Annual Campaign today.
