Every summer Pirsig pilgrims come through town β Pirsig taught at MSU from 1958 to 1961, and this place is woven into that story. June 20th felt like the exact right time for this workshop.

Had the privilege of making this gift for a Mother's Day present, and this was book no. 52 this year!
The prompt for the design was: "something cheery, and hopefully incorporate red into the design." Cheery for a murder mystery was quite the challenge, but since butterflies are a big motif in the book, that was the route I went.
I've loved doing full cover prints on canvas recently, and I'm excited to keep experimenting with it. π Thank you, Lydia, for trusting me with this present!
This one was a labor of love! Nick came to me with a full vision for his Heated Rivalry rebind and we went ALL in. Iridescent ice blue cloth, team color ribbon bookmarks, four-color speckled edges, DTF/HTV cover art with the hockey rink and crossed sticks, silver metallic text, Russian text on the back, Eastern Orthodox cross front endpaper, loon endpaper on the back... he knew what he wanted and I love that for him πβ¨

On May 3rd we're rebinding Snoopy and the Red Baron β dark red book cloth, hot foil cover art, and spine lettering worthy of the World War I Flying Ace himself. Then the original cover gets a second life as a handmade refillable journal with gold metal corner protectors and a gold biplane charm on the elastic closure.
You leave with two finished pieces and a very good story to tell.

I finished designing a limited run of six Fahrenheit 451 editions, and I'm still in awe with how they turned out.
This is actually my third go at this design! I've been tweaking and improving it since the first one, and I really feel like I nailed it this time.
Heat-sensitive cover that reveals the title, Bradbury's signature, and the salamander when you touch it. Embedded matches. Functional match strike on the spine. Shattered mirror on the back. Marbled endpapers by @jemmalewismarbling . Each one signed and numbered β number made within this run, and number made sequentially as part of my yearly catalog. This one is no. 44 of everything I've made in 2026.

This amazing Fahrenheit 451 graphic novel rebind was rebound by @jestercatbindingco !Endpapers are custom commissioned and hand marbled from by @jemmalewismarbling who also included two marbled wooden bookmarks. A real match embedded in the cover with a match strike on the spine. Bind also has Heat-reactive element: cover, spine, and back artwork will turn white with heat and the painted edges will turn from gray to light red to pale yellow depending on the temperature. Rebind also comes with a set of black matches with the slogan βBurn candles, not books.β
