One more because I like how this looks like we just won an Oscar. Everyone’s wondering who these people are and why they let normies onstage.

Late post/pretend it got lost in your feed… I had an incredible time writing Conan’s Oscars material again thisyear with these goofs. I belly laughed every day even when I was mildly annoyed, and grew to love each of their smells. Congrats to Conan and everyone involved on another terrific (sometimes harrowing) show.

Someone last night said “it’s an honor just to be working” which I feel so hard. But it’s an honor to be honored too. Working with such hilarious and wonderful people, and making a career out of comedy writing, feels like winning the lottery. And this statue is the jet ski I’m parking on my front lawn. ✨

#ConanOBrienMustGo is just that funny. Out now on @streamonmax . Listen to Conan’s Roundtable with his writers to hear more about the making of the show. Link in bio.

Oops I “accidentally” bought flowers that match my mask and then walked around with them for an hour and then took a selfie and then uploaded it to social media

An IKEA Hemnes makeover story (Swipe to see the finished result!) This is my latest installment of “Things I Did Instead of Writing.” It was long and labor-intensive because I had to sand off all the IKEA factory paint. But if you have one of these and want to give yours a facelift, do it! It’s one of the only IKEA items made from real wood (pine) instead of particle board. Google “IKEA Hemnes Hack” and you’ll find tons of inspiration. Maybe I’ll do a tutorial so you don’t make the same mistakes I did.

Okay, white friends, I know you’re getting bombarded with a lot of information. But I want to empower you to not feel too overwhelmed and become paralyzed. You really can’t sit this one out. So, what can you do? Here are some ideas, not because I’m an expert, but just to get you started. Google any of these and you will find great lists ready for you, or DM me and I’ll help. - You can read books about how to be an anti-racist and do real internal reflection. - You can follow Black activists and artists here and on Twitter and learn from them. - You can listen to podcasts— Code Switch, the Good Ancestor Podcast, Pod Save the People for starters. - You can donate $ to causes and shop at black businesses. - You can sign up for the White People 4 Black Lives or Showing Up for Racial Justice newsletters. - You can absolutely go to a protest. I know it feels uncomfortable in the pandemic, so wear a mask, and keep your distance. But don’t be worried about physical safety - so far every one I’ve attended has been peaceful. DM me and I can help find one near you. - Don’t be afraid to make a mistake or do the wrong thing. I’m sure I just made a mistake in this post (and please call me out if I did). Don’t let discomfort keep you from doing the right thing. Your conscience will thank you!

Happy Super Tuesday! I hope you’re voting for a candidate who inspires you. I got to see Elizabeth Warren speak last night and she talked a lot about the Latino/a janitors’ union who organized a strike in the 90s and were met with violence by the LAPD. I grew up in CA and was never taught about these labor rights leaders. This is exactly why I voted for Warren- her campaign is about learning, listening, and striving to do better for more people. That’s what I want in a president. Also I would like to see her pull Trump’s pants down on the debate stage and spank his naughty little backside.
