This is MY mentor, the great Lenny Bruce. On April 5 1959, Lenny did a joke about Elizabeth Taylor, who was one of the biggest actresses in the world at the time. She converted to Judaism in 1959 after the death of her Jewish husband.
A Bar Mitzvah is a ceremony meant for 13-year-old boys, obviously not adult women.
So when Lenny Bruce asks,
“Will Elizabeth Taylor ever be bar mitzvahed?”
