I recently recited some of my writing for Miu Miu’s literary salon: The power of Girlhood. A two day event in Milano, in an outstanding setting, on the leggest-legs, with the pinkest of palomas, centred on women in writing.
Smartly curated by @thecoldfield it was the perfect restbite from the mayhem of salone del mobile; digesting conversations on the works of Simone de Beauvoir and Fumiko Enchi, supping cheeky cocktails and serving playful performings.
it was an honour to be on and within this bridging between past and present writers.
The future is female ❤️🔥🐒🎈

Big up @kennedyldn for being SO fab
I had so much fun writing and reading pieces on desire for this year’s @miumiu literary lounge, directed by Ms Prada herself, and so tentatively curated by Olga @thecoldfield . It was a thoughtful three days, centred on the politics of desire via the works of Annie Ernaux and Ama Ata Aidoo. Tucked away from the mayhem of salone del mobile, the Circolo Filogico Milanese was a haven made of orators,thinkers and readers. A delight!

Happy 1st Birthday to La La books!
I can’t believe it’s only been a year because it feels like this place has been here always, a cosy, friendly, beautifully arranged snug on the tip of Camberwell Grove. We adored you as Grove Lane Deli, but love this new iteration as a bookshop and meet up spot. In this climate where cultural places are becoming more and more / dependent on being food orientated, it’s so refreshing to see a venue doing it the other way and with such success.
Everything Danielle and her team touch with such care and consideration turns to glitter, and it was so fun to be a part of the magic the other night.
Here’s to the late summer evenings, sitting kerbside a little tipsy on your negronis with a hand full of books!

Last week @icalondon , @clompch and I heavily flirted our way through a fantastic evening of super sexy publishers and their hot off the press writers. @w0rms.w0rld of course birthed Retail Therapy!
New Canons was conceived, curated and hosted by @robert.loyko.greer and @smalleyellis as a loving celebration of writing, reading, making and throwing a much needed light on the faces behind indie publishing houses.
It was a comforting reminder that loads of folks do still wanna have the tactility of reading a physical book made by actual people.

Hanna and I connected over books, specifically she happened upon my debut Retail Therapy in Giselle’s books (Marseille) and we soon zoomed excitedly that we’d both been exploring a similar subject matter: the changing nature of work, retail and retail spaces. Albeit from different angles, mine through writing and her’s through painting, sculpture and installation. In essence we both got it and each other, despite having never physically met, but connecting through our works, words and references. Power to print and long live the arts.

It was a delight to write and play with the accompanying text for Hanna Rochereau’s solo exhibition, 1st Floor at the Paulina Caspari (Munich). An installation that takes the logic of retail display as both subject and formal proposition: a space organised around the choreography of desire, where objects are elevated on podiums, arranged on tiered shelves, and lit to produce a particular atmosphere of value and longing . . .
Congratulations and thanks to
@hanna.rochereau and @paulinacaspari
and @gisellesbooks@w0rms.w0rld for the support x
Go see the show if you can: 13.03 - 24.4.26
